I don’t know about you – but most people just love interesting facts.  And, what is even more intriguing are SHOCKING facts.

For example, did you know that in 1976, Dr. Chester Wilk and four other Chiropractors filed a lawsuit against the American Medical Association (AMA)?

It’s true.  Why would they do such a thing?

That’s the shocking part.  The suit claimed that the defendants had participated for year in an illegal conspiracy to destroy Chiropractic.

But it gets better… because… on August 24, 1987, after endless wrangling in the courts, U.S. District Court judge Susan Getzendanner ruled that the AMA had engaged in a “lengthy, systematic, successful and unlawful boycott” designed to restrict cooperation between MDs and Chiropractors in order to eliminate the profession of Chiropractic as a competitor in the United States health car system.

And here’s something interesting:  During the case, the AMA took the stance of protecting patients. Chiropractors, however, showed the court Workmen’s Compensation Bureau studies that validated Chiropractic care.

More specifically, studies comparing Chiropractic care to care by a medical physician were presented that showed Chiropractors were “twice as effective as medical physicians, for comparable injuries, in returning injured workers to work at every level of injury severity.”

The settlement of the suit included an injunctive order in which the AMA was instructed to cease its efforts to restrict the professional association of chiropractors and AMA members. The AMA was also ordered to notify its 275,000 members of the court’s injunction. In addition, the American Hospital Association (AHA) sent out 440,000 separate notices to inform hospitals across the United States that the AHA has no objection to allowing chiropractic care in hospitals.

Since this time, Chiropractic care has been validated over and over.  And modern medical doctors work with modern Chiropractors to bring the best possible care to their patients.

One example is headaches…

If you suffer from headaches, you are not alone.  The numbers of people that suffer from headaches every year are staggering.  And a large percentage of these headache are “tension-type” headaches.  Another common type of headache is called “cervicogenic.”

This is important because a 2001 Duke University study showed that Chiropractic care helped both these types of headaches.  Both in headache frequency and severity.  And the study showed Chiropractic care worked better than many other treatments.

I’m sure you are not surprised how much Chiropractic treatments can help back and neck pain.  Almost everyone know that by now.  But many still do not know the great results Chiropractors can get with the most common types of headaches.

If you have (or frequently get) headaches, how do you know if Chiropractic care can help you?

That’s simple.  Just give us a can and we can discuss your headaches and take steps to determine what type of headache you have.  If you have the type of headache we can most likely help – we’ll tell you and show you what can be done.  And if you have a type of headache we do not have good success with, we will tell you what your best option may be.

So many headache sufferers have been helped by Chiropractic care.  It’s a shame when you have pain and it could be helped and you just don’t know it.
